The Mission
of the Public Works Department is to provide effective and high quality public works services to enhance the living and working environment in the Town of North Attleboro.

The Public Works Department is organized into 8 divisions with a total of 52 personnel. The Department is located in three major facilities: Administration/Highway/Fleet Services complex located at 240 Smith Street, the Wastewater Treatment Facility in Attleboro Falls, and the Water and Sewer Division offices located at 49 Whiting Street.

Divisions of the Public Works Department:
Administration Oversees overall management of the Public Works Department including personnel and fiscal administration, policy development, etc..

Highway Responsible for over 120 miles of highways, nearly 50 miles of sidewalks, compost site operations, snow removal, street sweeping, etc…
Motor Maintenance Maintains the Town of North Attleboro's vehicles and equipment.
Utilities
Wastewater Treatment Collection and treatment of an average of 3.1 million gallon per day of industrial and domestic wastewater.

Water The Town's drinking water - it's treatment process and delivery system.

Pretreatment The Industrial Pretreatment Program responsibilities are to permit, inspect and sample all industries in the North Attleboro and Plainville area that discharge industrial wastewater to the Town’s sewer system.
