Administrative Activities:
Enacts and enforces Board of Health Regulations, and Chapter 94 and
Chapter III of the Massachusetts General Laws and Federal Health Statutes.
Environmental Sanitary Services:
The Health Agent oversees sewage disposal systems, private water supplies,
all aspects of soil absorption systems, and Title V requirements.
Inspections:
Performs sanitary inspections of food stores, food and eating establishments
and cafes, funeral homes, hairdressing parlors, motels, mobile home parks
and camps, transportation of garbage and offal, and other inspections.
Inspects all plans of future building developments and makes recommendations to the Board of Health.
Investigates and initiates corrective action in cases of nuisance and other noisome trades.
Investigates hazardous waste complaints in conjunction with the Fire Department.
Conducts housing inspections upon request.
Enforces tobacco regulations.
The Health Agent is the town Burial Agent.
